Thanks Old-Smithy
Any help gratefully received.
I have almost blown my computer apart trying to upload photos.
Following if it works is not very good but may give you an idea. Will try to do better now I have a rough idea of how to get my pictures on
By the way someone at the local club said it might fit a Remington Rolling Block . A consignment of rifles made for the Egyptians but subsequently sold to the French when the Egyptians could not pay ????
He says it was just prior to the Franco Prusian war and when the Weyersberg company approached the Kaiser for permission to produce bayonets for a potential enemy he said "Go ahead I will get them all back after any war"
Nice story but not sure if the date of the Bayonet can be established let alone identified.
Best wishes Warren ( keltic0_1)
Not very up on Remingtons - certainly have not found one of the above to try!

As i suspected its a Danish 1867,
The Egyptian Rolling blogks had brasas hilts and look like the 1866 chassepot, there are both versions on my site under egypt.

Great weight of my mind to be able to identify it
Thanks again
