JimF4M1s,
Nice Woodman's Pal!
I'm pretty sure the "living in the Jungle" booklet wasn't issued with the original LC-14-B Woodman's Pal. In addition to the tool itself, two booklets, (the orange and blue) as well as a sharpening stone (in a tin) were issued along with the case.
It wasn't until the Viet Nam war was the additional booklet available and that wasn't even standard issue. I believe standard issue with a Viet Nam Woodman's Pal (now designated the MIL-S-8642C) was a sharpening stone (on a chain) a burning glass and a OD nylon cord along with the case.
The lack of the patent information on the blade means it's an early (probably WWII) issue Woodman's Pal.
Mine is marked the same as yours and is missing the blue booklet as well as the tin for the sharpening stone. I've found booklets on line before and will probably end up buying one the next time I see one available. I have yet to find a sharpening stone much less the tin for it. I'm sure one day I'll stumble across one.

JB71,
Thank you for the information. I picked this up 25+ years ago at a big show in Pomona, Calif. I had seen it in Cole's book, but never really knew much about it. I guess now I am on the hunt for a sharpening stone too.
I am tagging my items so my wife has an idea of value and doesn't get taken when I (hopefully not too soon) pass. Do you have a value on these?
Jim
