The initial set up for the roll die may have been off, or the receiver may have moved before the die was applied.
Higher resolution is not nearly as important to making good photographs as lighting and technique.

They usually split the inscription after the "und" to leave enough space for cutting the thumb recess (dunno if that is proper English - I ment the recess that was being done to allow the soldier to press the ammo into the magazine from the clip). Compare it with different DWM manufactured models, you'll see it yourself.
Could've also been that someone closed that recess as the reciever is everywhere of the same thickness; usually those DWM had thicker fronts.
