1903 question
I have a Springfield 03 that I have a small issue with. The pin/shaft that holds on the magazine cut off switch will slide out. What do I need to do to fix it? I tried to look up a schematic but couldn't see any kind of retainer pin or anything. I'll include a picture with the pin slid out. Thanks for the help

Looks like your ejector pin (and probably ejector also) are missing. The ejector pin also holds the cut off spindle in place.

the screw at the end of the cutoff, sinks into the groove of the spindle. if you dont have it tight, it will let the spindle move.

For a more useful picture than the GPC site elect TM 9-1270 from the "sticky" section above :

then scroll down to para 17 pages 62 and 63.
Hope this helps.

Both of the above replies are correct. I got to looking at what appears to be a missing ejector pin and let my mind wander and fingers type a wrong response. The cut off screw is what holds the spindle in. My apologies. For some reason I can not edit my original response. Sorry.

Right ! I had not realized when field stripping the rifle and bolt , that the ejector pin will fall out if you turn the action upside down , the pin is not threaded , parts are available thru sarco as well , wound up having to order new one , not expensive ! I think shipping was more than the part !
