Dewat sten
What does a deactivated sten with one mag usually sell for here in Canada? I wish to buy some sort of deactivated submachine gun but don't want to spend more than 350 on one. What else is out there in that price range or is hte sten pretty much the only way to go?

Typically about $400 give or take $50. Collector's Source lists a few.

I have bought dewat stens from Stencollector in the past as well. His prices are right in line with Collector's Source. Dewats are expensive everywhere. Sad truth.

Stencollector's toys are top quality- highly recommended.

I bought my 1943 Long Branch dewat from Stencollector, also.
I'm no expert on Stens or dewats, but in my view the work is topnotch. (Only complaint is that it probably looks better now than when it first left the factory 63 years ago! )
Stencollector can also likely supply other bits, like a sling, additional magazines, hand protector (to keep your fingers out of the ejection port), etc.

Not to hijack the thread, but what would the going rate be for an operational (converted auto) Canadian Sten? I know I can't shoot it, but I would still feel better having an operational gun in my collection than one that has been chopped up.

If you have the correct 12(3) endorsement, put a want ad on CGNTZ EE, wanted live Converted Auto Long Branch Sten, who know, someone might want to sell one.
The dewats in question are so nicely done that you'd be sure to like them...not a cutting torch mark in sight...can't ever be fired again but a very nice thing indeed.
