    SC 03A3 rear sight problem...

Finally got around to putting a few rounds down
range yesterday (HXP 69) but the rear sight ladder
    wouldn't hold its position.

    Is there any easy fix?

Either put a new spring on the slide, or take it off and bend it a little for more tension. Ric

    03A3 sight repairs

In some cases, the notches in the elevation ramp are not deep or wide enough. A jewlers file may be used to make them deeper. Be careful if you try and bend the detent spring. They often break.

I took the detent off, tweaked the indexing 'arm' slightly and replaced. Works like a charm, but have to admit, getting that itty-bitty screw back in with 61 year old eyes was a pain. Once the arm is tweaked, the detent doesn't sit level and even over the sight, so getting the screw in and started without stripping the threads is a lesson in patience.

I'm tempted to just replace the whole rear sight as
its kinda beat up anyway. Who carries a nice USGI
    replacement? NOS units out there?
