A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. If that gun is an original Parked M12, it is probably real. I have seen several marked exactly like that, and all were mint and original.

The handguard is not right, the guard has been replaced and the lug looks like it was poorly refinished. The small parts that should be blued are not, so someone has messed with the gun. However, the finish on the gun itself looks original.

The cannons are to big on stock? Butt plate is not original? Front bead is brass and not german silver? Heatshield does not have the dimple seven holes from rear? The only thing original is the finish. Stay away!

Oh, BTW, price is out of this world for this piece. I have seen much, much better examples at gun shows recently for less than $2k.
