I would suspect it has something to do with Americans realizing their new president is actually somewhere to the left of the Clintons on firearm issues . Also the buying of semi-autos started rising last summer a little and increased as voting season came on .

Thanks for the reply Jack. I can see that as a good reason.I tell you one thing ,he has a fight on his hands if he's trying to change the gun laws down there.

M14 parts kits vanished 5 years ago. If you have any M14 parts they are gold. I understand the US Army bought every single M14 part CMP had in the back room. The Army gave away all parts during the Clinton Administration. None to be had today.

From what I see the U.S are using the M14 as a sniper rifle In Iraq and Afghanistan. 7.62x51 is one powerfull round. I also here the soldiers were pretty ****ed when thay had to give them up for the M16 in Vietnam . I guess I'll have to wait for mine.

That didn't take too long. Thanks Sunray , I was looking all over the net and I find that there's one not that far from me.I purchased a Remington from Ellwood Epps about a year ago.
Now if I had the money I could probably find out where to get a working Sherman MkV tank from this site.
Thanks again Sunray
Cheers

Hard to tell if there will be a fight or not , the opposing party seems to have there own version of gun restrictions as well . The political leaders seem destined to march off into the left of the sunset . I think that the buying spree may be the Americans that make the country work are bolting down the hatches and standing by .
At any rate whatever Springfields production was in the past isn't enough to supply the buyers now . I can remember having my choice of M14 bolts at the CMP for fifty bucks each and I only bought a couple for "spares" . Lots of us are blessed with 20/20 hindsight no ?

I ordered an M1A Loaded mid-December through my local shop from Springfield.... I'm still waiting and there's no ETA on delivery.
So far as price goes, I'm getting it for $1500 USD (again, that's new). I'll wait as long as it takes versus paying some schmuck selling a USED standard for $1900+.
