I used to work with an older gent who was in the 502nd. My late father was in the 503rd and we became very good friends once he found out that Dad was in the Airborne. He used to tell me all kinds of stories. Loved 'em all. I once wrote him an "in plant" memo and started it out "stand up and hook up". He said when he read that he knew he was had. Shortly after, I was laid-off from the plant. Lost all contact with him. I miss him fiercely, and Dad too.
