Does anyone know the complete list of US trainers
and when/service they were used for?
Younger guy, and from what I know, they weren't used by the services in the past 50-60 years, just issued out to JROTC/ROTC programs

Are you talking about small bore trainers or all trainers?
I asked because the Mosin Nagant M91 has been used as a training rifle. Also, an old man I new said that when he was in the militia (1920s) before it was the National Guard he was issued and trained with a Trapdoor Springfield .45-70. He also said that he had to buy is own ammunition.
I will assume you are asking about small bore because of where you posted.
As far as the past 50-60 years, the Military has used the M261 .22 adapter in the M16 until they adopted the M16A2. They deemed it unsuitable for the faster twist barrels. They do work very well in 1-12" twist barrels.

Up until at least the mid 1960's there were Remington 40X rifles issued t o USAR units. These rifles were not used for training, unless you consider marksmanship competition as training. What caused most of the .22 trainers in USAR and NG units to go out of use was the indoor ranges not meeting OSHA air quality standards. It was too expensive to improve the air quality in most of them to bring them into compliance.
This probably coincided with the reduced emphasis on marksmanship training in the military.
