    Exclamation CSP is seeking advertisers

    My fellow CSPers,

I have volunteered to help CSPicon admin get the message out that CSP is in need of advertisers, which will help the Culvers. This is a quote from CSP admin "I'd also stress that ALL advertising revenue goes directly to Gloria and Dick and none of it is used to support the operation of this site. I want people to understand that Milsurps.Com has no vested interest in that advertising revenue and in fact, donates all of the hardware, software and network bandwidth costs to Dick and Gloria for free."

So with this in mind, if you know any firearm, military surplus or collectible related business that you buy from on a regular basis or know someone who has their own business suitable for this site (no jerky!!!) , please have them contact CSP admin: cspadmin@milsurps.com. They will get back to those folks with rates and demographic info for potential candidates.

I plan on send in an email to Ray Vin, since they seem to be a good fit for CSP. I get nothing out of getting advertisers in here, I'm just doing what I can to help the Culvers.

    Thanks for your interest.

    -Jeff L

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Hi Folks ...

My wife ~Angel~ and I have been getting some really disturbing emails from a very small segment of the old CSPicon community, that alludes to us personally gaining from Dick and Gloria's predicament. To be honest, if we had realized that our personal efforts to help them were going to be construed in this manner, we doubt we would have started down this road at all.

Having said that, a clarification for everyone ....

As Jeff mentioned, ALL of the advertising revenue in the CSP forums, which is zero at the moment, goes directly to Dick and Gloria, so I'm sure they would appreciate any help you guys can be in getting advertisers to fill those banner spots you see at the top of CSP forums.

We're also looking for a volunteer for a financial fund raising project for Dick and Gloria. If you, or anyone you know would like to "Chair" that kind of program, please send me a PM or email with your ideas. ALL proceeds from an on-line personal donation based fund raiser would go directly to help Dick and Gloria and NONE would benefit the site in any way.

Thanks for any help you can offer ...

Finally, the use of your CSP forums is absolutely FREE and the ONLY program that helps this site at all, are folks who have graciously chosen to voluntarily donate a nominal amount of money, to help defray several thousand dollars in annual system bandwidth, server, disk storage and maintenance costs. We refer to this special group as Contributing Members (click here). Even though our personal contribution from my wife ~Angel~ and myself to help Dick and Gloria, increases our site operational costs by about 50%, any additional financial support helps mitigate some of that burden and we sincerely appreciate it. So, indirectly that program helps them too. We are NOT a paid site and would operate and do this for Dick and Gloria, even without the assistance of "Contributing Members".

If anyone would like to speak to us about our site, our personal love of this hobby (~Angel~ is a HUGE Enfield collector), or our motives, then we'd appreciate people having the respect and courage to send us an email with personal contact information, and not be posting gossip anonymously behind an Internet pseudonym here and in other forums. We'd be happy to telephone anyone at our expense and speak to them face-to-face, about who we are and the current state of Dick and Gloria's situation, which obviously would be inappropriate to be publishing publicly all over the Internet.

    Thanks for listening everyone ....

    Regards,
    Badger (Doug)
    ~Angel~ (Deborah)

I hope that EVERYONE will contribute to Dick and Gloria in what is a trying time for both of them.I spoke with the Culvers on two or three occasions a few weeks ago and due to Gloria's mangled knee they were holed up in the HoJo in Post's Falls with Dick being head nurse, chief cook and bottle washer.
As one can imagine having to live in a hotel to be close to medical help is NOT exactly the nicest situation.Especially when Dick has to go out to their acreage to feed the stock and horses etc in heavy snow.
Dick and Gloria have supplied ALL of us here with untold hours of enjoyment over the past decade and it is now OUR turn to repay them.NOTHING in this life is free and freeloaders aren't appreciated. We all know that the current economic sitrep isn't exactly from the best BUT I certainly hope that everyone will kick in a"little something" to help out in what has become the Culvericon's hour of need.
Our Jewish Brethren have a saying and it is "Give 'til it hurts".I think that a little "pain" might be appreciated by these two fine people who have certainly given all of us a LOT of pleasure over the years.

    Sincerely,

    John R.
