    OT Anyone heard from Harlan?

Was just wondering if anyone has heard from Harlan, and if he's out of the hospital yet.
    Hope he's doing better!

He's out of the hospital and shuttling back and forth to the doc for various test. Still uncomfortable but better.

    I E-mailed with him Wednesday.
He's been out of the hospital since late last week, after nearly a one month stay. Having had 3 more surgeries.

Quoting Harlan ..... " I've been trying to read the forums, but sometimes just feel too tired to even get my computer out. I have to eat mostly a liquid diet right now and it really wearing me down, which isn't helping "

Being home and hopefully some red meat soon will help......... There's no place like home........There's no place like home.....

    Regards,
    Charlie

I talked with Harlan today and he sounded better than I heard since all this started. His spirits are up and he was even joking a little. Debbie is really doing wonders for his recovery. His son Tony is there with him as well.

I forgot to ask how his new dog is doing.
He couldn't think of a name for him.
While having dinner one night along with a picture of his dog on the table. The family just kept rattling off names until we had roughly 25-30 names listed for him to choose.
I thought Riley made a good name for him, by looking at the pic.

Wink The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated!

    Hi Guys,

I'm finally back home, and I do feel much better just being home with my family. (I hope I never see another hospital again!)

I had my laptop with me, but only had limited access to our web site because the hospital's wireless would constantly 'timeout' and disconnect me while trying to read threads or when I tried to write something in order to post.

I was able to read my email while I was in there. I'll always be grateful for all the emails of encouragement I received from so many of you gentlemen who learned from your network of 'virtual carbine buddies' that I was stuck in the hospital over the past six weeks. It meant more to me, and did more good than I can ever say!

    - Other than Ed's (Tired-Retired) funny emails, that is!
Payback is in order Ed! Three internal surgeries in a week, and you had to make me laugh!
    "OUCH!" "OUCH!" "OUCH!"

    PS Charlie -
The big chocolate Lab I rescued from the SPCA turned out to be the best dog we've ever had, and my son named him "Buddy" -
(I liked the name 'Riley' too, but the dog was named Buddy when I got home)

Thanks again everyone! I've missed being here.

Ah, it's good to be loved, Ed -

(My nurse told me you had been seen in the basement checking toe tags as if you were looking for a lost lottery ticket!)
