Shooting My M1903A1
Gentlemen: This may sound like and advertisement but it is not. It is just that I found a winning combination for shooting my 03A1 that I want to share with others. I bought one of the Greek return rifles from the CMP but had not shot it much. Based on accounts in this forum, I purchased a set of USMC sight inserts from Mr. Bill Bentz (dcm450shtr@comcast.net). These are high quality and precisely fit without any wobbles or excess tightness. I added to this Ray-Vin's '03 Springfield Sight Micrometer (http://www.ray-vin.com) and headed to the range with the standard target at 200 yards. What a difference this combination made! For one thing, my almost 60 years old eyes could actually develop a sight picture. And the additional height of the front sight put me in the black with the ladder down. Raising the ladder and using the micrometer was a real joy! Ammunition used was the Greek '06 that CMP sold. And the 1930's '03 performed great as well. Best regards, H.T.

Great to hear stories like yours. I too, am age challenged, and I need all the advice I can get. I use a sight micrometer also, and it is a godsend.
