    Sling question

Do any of you have a picture of an appropriate period sling installed on a 1884 rifle?
I saw that Turner Slings have a M1887 sling for sale.
Is this the right sling, or do I need to keep looking?
Also is this a shooting Sling or a carry strap? I ask this as I use a M1907 Sling to shoot my AR15,Garandicon and 1903. and I am wondering if the M1887 will do this on my Trapdoor.
By the way my trap door is still in layaway I should have it in about a month and I'll post pictures when I liberate it.
    Thank you, John

I think you will find that the trapdoor sling is either tight (parade) or loose (carry) and has to be completely disassembled and reassembled to switch from one to the other.

The Turner repro sling is excellent. Slings of that period were just used for carrying.
