Turned Bolts for 04s?
Where would one find 03A3 bolts that have already been turned to accomodate a low-mounted 1" scope, as on A4s?
Are these just the bolt sleeves, or are they the entire bolt unit?
I have two 03A3s and was considering scoping one of them into an A4 configuration ... Thanks!

Original 1903A4 bolt handles were forged and ground to a concave shape to provide clearnace for the approved scopes, Weaver 330C (M73B1) and Lyman Alaskan (M73).
To do what you desire requires replacing the main part of the bolt or bolt body including the handle. Originals are very hard to find and expensive (figure $400+). You can obtain aftermarket adaptations of leftover spare parts 03-A3 bolts that will do the job however.
Some are not too bad cosmetically and will typically run from $20. to $60. from the major parts dealers.
Try Sarco, Gunparts, Bill Ricca.

Jim

Please Be aware that if you use an original A4 bolt you'll also have to modify the stock.

I'm just wishing the A3s he's talking about are sporterized and not originals.
