1944 BSA No1 two digit serial number prefix of "SC"
Can anyone help with a query on a BSA 1944 No1 with a 3 digit serial number prefix "SC".
If it means sold out of service, does it therefore have reduced collector value?.
Sorry if this is a real novice question and if it is please advise the best source serial number information.
Thanks.

A 1944 BSA No1 would probably have an "N" prefix; sounds like your rifle has been scrubbed and renumbered.
If you post some photos, we'll be able to tell you a lot more.

Thunderbox, thanks for the reply.
It's a rifle I looked at some months ago and is still for sale thus I have no photos.
The serial number is quoted as "SC***" which seems a low number. I will see if I can get more info.
