Why were some Inland barrels undated? How many?

Do any of you guys have any idea why some of the Inland barrels had no date, what serial number range would they fall in? I've never talked to a collector that knew the answer to this. What percent were undated?
    Thank you, Karbine Kat

There are several reasons why there are undated. They can be found throughout the serial number ranges. However they are more prominent in some ranges than others. Percentages are high enough that they are not rare but low enough that they are not excessively common.

Well ....... Thanks To Both Of You, Charlie And Brian For The Reply, But I Still Don't Know The Reason Some Were Not Dated????? Was It An Accident, An Oversight, On Purpose? There Must Be Some Logical Reason! Does It Lower The Value Of The Carbine They're On? Thanks
