I was impressed with the flexibility of the Stoner system displayed at the NRA convention in Los Angeles around 1964. Never did understand why the military didn't adopt or at least consider at length the Stoner system, do recall alot of discussion of allegations of impropritory political influence and graft to go with the Armalite rifle. But then I thought Northrop's YF-23 a better design than Lockheed's...oh well.
