A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Everyone has their own share of these things going on... I guess I'll have to read up on the attacks they speak of and see how deactivated and blank guns were used in these attacks.

I don't know about the bit concerning "declaring newly deactivated firearms to national authorities? I haven't heard of this coming into force in the U.K.. You've got to remember that some of the so called deactivated firearms in other European countries had a poor standard of deactivation work which gave all deacs a bad name to Joe Public. U.K. deacs were deactivated to a high standard but because we are still, currently, in the E.U. we have to do what Brussels tells us.

    Seriously folks ...

I'm getting really tired of posting the same thing over and over again.

Some folks either don't read our forum rules and "Terms of Service", or they do and simply feel that it just doesn't apply to them.

If you wish to discuss the politics of firearms ownership or the practices and policies of various governments attempting to control them, then please use the appropriate venue described in the thread titled Where can I discuss politics and gun legislation issues? (click here).

    Regards,
    Doug
