    commercial mags

Just recieved some carbine mags from Southern Ohio Gun Distributors, Inc. Korean manufacture, marked "PW" on back. 15 rounds with hold-open (M2 type) follower. Look nice and feed by hand OK, but haven't shot with them yet. Only $9.95 each, in stock. I don't think PW is a ripoff of any WW2 markings I know of.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I recently got some of those from Midway - were supposed to be marked "KCI." I called them and was told PW makes KCI - I don't know, but they look to be in spec. I think they're going to work OK. I wanted the ones marked KCI, just so there was no confusion about the markings. The finish on mine is not as good as WWII USGI, but needed something new because my old "shooters" are wearing out and didn't want to use any of my NOS mags. - Bob

PS. - Just weighed a PW Korean mag and a worn out KSG on my wife's dietary scale and got 80 grams on both. The Korean's appear to be made on U.S. supplied tooling or an exact copy.
