Magazines on Ebay
I see a lot of magazines listed on ebay as 10 round magazines and they look like 15 round magazines to me. Am I missing something here or is this "code" to get around sales in states which allow 10 round max?
I have seen some actual 10 round magazines but these look like normal WWII production 15 rounders.

Isn't California a 10 rd mag state? Maybe they made them for California? Or was that just pistols?

I believe there's an ebay policy banning the sale of magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds. Look at the makers mark on the spine, if it's a G.I. issue mag it will be 15 round or 30 round. Unless modified for sale in a state with a high cap. mag ban.

I think it's a play with words. G.I. mags hold 1 to 30. so you can say 10 round and be PC.....Frank

I figured that had to be what was going on. They are obviously GI spec 15 round magazines. Possible they put a spacer in them to be "legal" but that can be taken out. I didn't bid on any and fortunately found two yesterday reasonably priced at a gun shop so I'm not looking anymore but I was still curious.
I don't think there is an ebay policy as I saw several guys selling 15 or 30 round magazines, they just had a list of 6 or 8 states they could not ship to.

Ebay is a California based company. Selling items on Ebay have to conform with California restrictions and policies. They do have a ten round maximum on magazines.

JimF4M1 and Vintage Hunter are both correct.

Dumping
It appears there are a lot of good (many new) magazines being dumped at low starting $ on ebay right now. We don't know yet what they will sell for but there is a lot of competition so I expect the average price to be depressed. There for a while the mags got pretty pricey relative to recent prices. I was going to sell a few but I think I will sit on them a while and see how this flood shakes out.
Ebay of course does not allow high capacity (over 10 round) magazines. As usually advertised, all of the USGI magazines currently offered on ebay will hold 10 rounds.
