    edystone sights

    hello there does any know of a vari9ble aptiture rear sight for a 1917 edystone rear sight so i can get the rear apiture smaller for 200 yard shooting ? thanks

    The Parker Hale 5B Micrometer rear sight with Parker Hale PH56 6 position aperature as used on P14 Target rifles can also be fitted to the M1917. The ranging graduations on the scale are calibrated for MkVII .303 ammo, but will be close enough for m2 ball. Both can be found on ebay.

    Have you tried shooting with the sight leaf up and the and the ladder all the way down? It should put you close to a 200 yard zero. Another option is to get a set of front sight inserts for the british enfield, (they are interchanchable with the U.S. rifle), and put a taller front blade in. Springfield sporters used to carry them. You can also buy another front sight insert and modify it so it is taller or modify your existing front sight.
