1953 30-06 ammo
Some one at work left this 30-06 ammo on my desk. They probably saw me cleaning up our old M1s and thought I would know what it is.
It is in M1 clips, but when I took the rounds out they appear that they have been in links. The ammo is orange tipped and headstamped WCC 53.
Is this old tracer ammo?

WCC 53 is Western Cartridge Co.(owned by Olin), made in 1953. Definitely tracer. Possibly corrosive. Probably was in links at one time.

Thanks
I bet someone, years ago, de-linked it and shot the ball ammo and the tracers have been on a shelf in a closet for years. I'll have to find out who left it on my desk and see if they know where it's been for the last 55 years. Thanks for the information, to me this is history.

The ammo is M25 Tracer. It is not corrosive.
