Full L42A1 chest

No, the scope seen in the 'contents' pic looks like a No. 42 (or poss. No. 53) scope. There's a few extra oddities in there too, e.g. the spare magazine isn't an L42 one, it's a No.4 one.

L42A1 Sniper rifle was designed in the mid-1960s. It utilized an original WWII British Enfield No 4 MK 1 (T) sniper rifle, updated to utilize the 7.62 NATO round. It was rebarreled designated as the 7.62 L48A1 and packaged w/ all upgraded accessories in a special transit chest. This lot includes the wooden transit chest measuring 50"x13"x6" complete w/ data plate reading "CHEST RIFLE 7.62MM L42a1 / EQUIPMENT L1A1 (CR185A)" Dated 1971. Contents of chest include the 33" leather cased, extendible Scout Regiment Telescope,
11" Telstg No 42 Mk1 scope w/ single sighting line. IWS Mount, cleaning kit, brushes & literature. CONDITION: Box is structurally sound & canvas straps are intact & pliable. Contents are military surplus, appearing to have been stored properly. Glass appears clear. Leather wraps are pliable & intact. (02-16807-9/JZ). $300-500.

To his credit, the seller does admit that is a No. 42 Mk 1 telescope in this transit chest, but the "complete" CES it contains has elements that represent a bit of a put-together fantasy. Even so, somehow I suspect that will not stop it from selling for a crazy amount.
