If you look on that auction site under 'BREN' you'll often see them advertised and cheap too... Look under international as they're usually in the UK section. I think that the tin is the only bit that the site don't consider a part of a firearm,!

I had several for sale, all gone now. I still have some brushes, gas cylinder scraping tools and butt removal tools.

Not sure about cheap anymore,I used to buy them for $3 AUST,now they sell for 15.By the time you add postage costs they work out at £19.87 delivered.
Mind you one (empty) sold on the UK site at auction a month or so back for £45.50 inc postage within the UK !
......Must get around to phoning Metal Box to see if they have a few thousand stashed away on some dusty shelf

I sold one recently on THAT site for a Tenner. It's about what they are worth these days.
I have had a few of the plastic variants in the past also.
They were manufactured by MANROY because you couldnt get the metal ones anymore in quantity.
An enquirey to metal box Company yielded a Yes to manufacturing more. BUT, they wouldnt entertain an order for less than 25,000 Minimum! It wasnt worth them tooling up & running a production run for less than that amount!

Were the plastic spare parts tin for a foreign order? I ask because there is only one part number in the Ord system and that's the old tin one. We had zillions of plastic cleaning kit boxes but |I never saw a plastic spare parts tins.
That they're worth a tenner is frightening....................

Peter, The plastic ones were dimentionaly the same. They were manufactured because of the fact that you couldnt get the tins in quantity. I believe they were NEVER issue to the British M.O.D. They got manufactured to fullfil overseas orders for these tins. In my own opinion, BETTER that the tins, rotproof, waterproof, crushproof, Rustproof, cost less, Etc Etc. A collegue of mine bought the remaining stocks from MANROY & has been selling them to fill Bren SPW's as the Tins are not generally available. Hence the unbelievable prices they are fetching! The Plastic boxes are ALL new, & have never been used. I can get some IF any members want any? PM me if you need any?
