Colt SAA Letter Question
I have a Colt letter that under barrel length is blank. The barrel measures 4.75". Does this mean it originally had a 4.75" barrel or was it a 7" barrel cut down to 4.75"? THANKS

Usually when there is no record, the letters state "not specified". I guess they could just leave the space blank. Call Colt and ask them since you have the letter already. If they have no record, the bbl. could have been any length originally. Someone familiar with original Colts could tell you if the barrel has been cut down.

As suggested, call Colt. Maybe it was an oversight, or maybe the records don't list it, but it should not have been left blank. Grips were not normally recorded, but the letter will show "Not Listed". The letters even show the barrel length on the 1911 and 1911A1 pistols.
