Early 7.5 Swiss cartridges
The first cartridge is the lead bullet with the paper patch, headstamp is 1907 - was blackpowder still in use in 1907 ? The second 7.5 is dated 1924, note it is a little
longer. There is some kind of hard lubricant around the bullet and case - I knew why
this was done but can not remember now.

Additional information: The 7.5x53.5 Swiss GP1890 used 29 grs of semi-smokeless powder with a paper patched 211 gr round nose steel capped lead bullet at approx 1970 fps. This cartridge was upgraded with a newer less corrosive primer and called the GP1890/03.
In 1923 the GP1890/03 was modified and used a 190 gr cupro nickel jacketed round nose bullet with smokeless powder and the cartridge case was lengthened to 54.5mm, this cartridge was called the GP1890/23
