value of a winnie?
Hello all, I have a chanch of getting a winnie in the 1,200,000 range. It has been ftr'd an has a AAM stamp left side od stock around the reciver area. Would like too know if 850.00 would be too much? BBl is shinny with good rifleing an there is no rust anywhere. Was bought from CMP for 750.00 an I know that m-1 carbs are getting scarce. tia for any info. michael

We need more information on it. Is the barrel original? What are all the other parts inside? The barrel is the main thing. $850.00 is steep for a CMP carbine. I don't know what Winnie carbine would have been bought for $750.00.

I have a few carbines, but none of them are winnies, rockies, or underwoodies.

I have to agree on this one and don't intend to put anyone down.
The 'cutsie' terms some use for carbines seems somewhat disparaging.
I guess I could start referring to my Winchester Garand as a 'winnie granny'
