Magnum primers
Went looking for small pistol primers today to load .380 auto, All I could find was Winchester small pistol Magnum primers, Whould these be too hot to use? Dont want to mess up my pistol or fingers. I guess I was lucky to get any primers at all, It was the last box and was 34 bucks. Thanks, Tommy

Yes, you can use the mag primers and knowing that they are a bit hotter is going to call for a slight reduction in your powder charge.
First, chronograph your normal load using standard primers. Drop 3 tenth's of a grain using the mag primers and compare the two, if it's slower with the mag primers, bring the charge up, but I think you will see that the reduction will be about the same as your normal load using non-mag. primers.
You also can check out your reloading manuals and see what powders may be slower burning and use the mag primers with the slower powders. You may find a better shooting load using the mag primers.
Hope this helps
