Attachment 45708Attachment 45707Attachment 45709Attachment 45710Attachment 45711Hi, first time on here, I picked up a LF and C 1918 knuckle trench knife with a US M6 Milsco scabbard. I'm going to try to post pics. Let me know what you think of it.

We need to see more of the blade for a good evaluation. The scabbard was a valuable item in it's own but that's more or less past. These had a different scabbard so at some point it was force matched up with this one. Is the blade pitted or rusted or...? The handle looks dark but good.

Surface rust that's not too frightening...I know how I'd remove it and it wouldn't damage anything but I think I'll just wait for the experts to rescue you. If you just wipe it down with some light weight oil it will stop it. Don't put it back in the scabbard oily though. That has just about had all the abuse it can take. The whole knife looks fit though. Once you get the rust off...

http://www.gundersonmilitaria.com/knives.html Here's a place to see what your blade may be worth. Go down until you find the M 1917 LF&C trench knife and remember you don't have a scabbard. There's one that would be in the shape of yours except for the missing scabbard.
Here's some threads on rust removal, so I don't have to re-hash this with the same people...if it doesn't come through, just search for rust removal in the advanced search engine at the top right of the page.
