DESECRATION OF BRITISH WAR GRAVES
I know I have a vested interest in this subject having formed and run GRAVEWATCH but this takes the cake and I hope they recieve massive sentences for their greed!! There are still the remains of hundreds of sailors on those ships, and anyone involved in maritime knows its a big no no doing anything with these ships! Most of these British ships are in reachable depths of under 80 metres so AIR divers can easily reach them.
This is getting out of hand and time the relevant authorities started handing out serious jail terms or much more IMHO.

Well, today in Rome, some awfully stupid tourists bathed in the fountain placed inside the Altar of the Fatherland (Altare della Patria), which is the enormous marble monument in front of Piazza Venezia built to honour the Unknown Soldiers.
It is a true tragedy that our police and Carabinieri can't beat the hell out of such idiots. That would have been the perfect punishment.
After that, a nice fine with lots of digits and thrown out of the country. On the first plane home at their own cost.
There is no respect for fallen soldiers, graves, cemeteries...

Seems to be epidemic. Last week a WWII Memorial Submarine in Hackensack NJ was vandalized and then flooded. While this isn't on the same level as grave desecration - it's very disturbing.

It is the responsibility of all Governments where our ships now lie, whether they come for Britain, America, Canada wherever................. who served during any war.
There are immense technical solutions that can be used on these ships regardless of their depths.
Geo Fencing / anti tamper sensors just two I submit, all available at relatively low cost if they really cared about the FREEDOM they enjoy today in those far flung places of the world because these men gave their lives to provide it.
Clearly one Government thought enough is enough and its now gone public. Lets hope this sends out a clear message, and lets hope the other Governments that now have these ships from all allied Forces in WW2 in their waters, do the same and dish out a decent deterrant

Disgusting! I worked with a youngster who was lucky enough to earn a trip to China (thru college) for an economic seminar. There were kids from other US schools there that took the liberty of "signing" their names with magic markers to an ancient artwork in a museum they visited. He was appalled and felt quite lucky to make it home. Some people have zero respect for others' history!

I notice there is a nice clear edge on the jetty behind those goons so the guys with the AR's should line them up then turn them into fish bait as I am tired of being politically correct in this world because certain people do not give a toss about past history or the fact they owe their freedom to previous generations who gave it all and still do, nope do as one famous marine quote says "Kill'em all & let God sort them out".
They aint gunna stop desecrating those ships until all the stuff is gone, its a wonder a patrolling sub does not investigate those underwater detonations still as their missions are highly classified why would they alert the public to their whereabouts.
As for that submarine if they get the crooks then they should be made to work there for nothing the rest of their lives probably stole the plaques for drug money and went to the sub for copper or such nope they are no better than the above salvage pirates and probably deserve the same fate as them they are all just a bunch of oxygen thieves anyway get rid of 'em.

John,
I am sure thy have but these scum would never admit to it. The numbers of lads laying inside some of these war ships, would definitely have been disturbed regardless as they rape the steel sides from them!!

(Rhetorical question)
Gil, it's the same as going to a cemetery, digging up graves, tipping out the human remains and stealing the coffin, isn't it?

Paul,
Yes, just as despicable, its immaterial that they lie inside a metal coffin in effect!!
