    Recent M1 Garands in Canada?

Tradeex recently had 20 or so very nice M1icon Garands that sold very fast for $2195 (Canadianicon) a pop.
Many had WWII actions with WWII barrels rated as very good. Some had painted rack numbers and the stocks looked very good.
I was able to buy one from the same lot from a different dealer.
It's a July 1944 receiver with a June 1944 barrel. The barrel is excellent. All parts are SA except for the HR op rod. The stock has the circle P and a DOD acceptance stamp only. Obviously been overhauled at some point. It appears to have been cleaned more than fired as there is no wear to the Parkerizing on the receiver and other parts. A small "27" is stamped on the stock underneath the P. I assume its a rack number of some sort.
I would love to know where it came from. I have read there were some rifles from Turkeyicon coming back but wouldn't these need to go through the CMPicon first?
One of these rifles at Tradeex had a CMP replacement stock.

Could have been in import from Turkeyicon...so very many countries took these as LL it's hard to say. The stock is late and it could also have been put together. As for the finish, I never look at that, specially here in Canadaicon because I've refinished so many of those, you'd never be able to tell it wasn't an arsenal overhaul after...grey or black park as you wish. I know when Lever got them so far back, they stripped them to every part and assembled correct rifles. As for Tradex actually telling you the truth of where they came from...good luck.

Sounds like you have a nice rifle though, let's have a look? Please don't be afraid of posting too many pics...

I will get some pics up. My park finish is greenish. It does not appear to be a new park job however.

Looks good, no, not a recent refinish. Looks like the wood came after though. Very nice over all...
