This was weird....
Ok..gonna try to explain this as best I can, as I didnt have my phonecam with me. Stopped in a pawn shop today, and there was a pretty nice 1916 M91 carbine. But the mag/trigger guard group was gone, and what was in its place was a thin strip of blued metal. Matched the patina of the rest of the rifle. So from the side, it looked like a Carcano carbine with no mag. Puled the bolt back, nothing in there to feed even a single round. Everthing else functioned as should..bolt, trigger, etc. Looked like a helluva lot of precision work for no end. WTH?

Here's an illustration....don't know if I described it well enough. Weird.

It would be easy to restore, those magazines are easily available. If the price is right. You could point out that it is incomplete.

Could it be a conversion to 8x57? Or maybe some other caliber that won't feed in the action?
