Help with "L" flip sight please!
I have a No. 4 Mk.1*
There were no rear sights when I bought it so I ordered this but I'm curious if I installed it correctly. My question is - how does it stay up in the correct position? When I flip it up it goes too far, so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to use it. I'm assuming there is some way to tighten it. I tried some google searches but I have not found anything helpful.

There should be a spring and plunger - as these were common to all rifles presumably somebody took yours off and lost it. No doubt somebody round here can supply them (or you can make the plunger on the lathe)

If you look underneath the rear sight to the the right, you will see a hole in the receiver. In that hole is supposed to be a flat topped plunger with a spring underneath it. This holds the rear sight in position under spring tension. The plunger and spring are held in by the rear sight.

He's right, you're missing the plunger and spring. Without those, it won't sit steady. You do have it the right way round though. Here's what you're missing.

Thanks so much everyone! I found those online, and I'll order soon.
Cheers
