    Triggers, differences?

Just discovered my No4Mk1* Savage has a grooved trigger, where my Long Branch No4Mk1* has a smooth trigger. Is one scarcer than the other? Stratton says the grooved is scarcer?

Not so much scarcer but more expensive a they employed milling or stamping machines. They were cheapened under the rules and acceptable allowances decreed by the Pilkington committee for the simplification of small arms

Hi Peter, I've just received my first Long Tom, a range rifle, the trigger feels way different compared to an smle, were either of these rifles trigger set ups considered superior than the other, ie smoothness or other factors? thanks
