Bayonet info
I have a bayonet that I can't ID. I bought it at a flea market and it was tagged as a Spanish Mauser but I knew that was not right. It is all metal, even the handle and has two barrel rings. The only identification are a series of numbers stamped into the handle. The blade is about 11 inches and the cutting edge is on the bottom. Any info would be appreciated.
Also could anyone recommend and good book or two on bayonets. I have several that I have obtained over the years and thought I might start collecting.
I'm new to this site and looking for info.
Thanks
Tom

Bayonet Info
Tom-Sounds like a French MAS1949/56 bayonet. Could be wrong, but I'd check out French Bayonets and rifles for a start. Good Luck! SKIP

The French 49/56 and the FAMAS both have plastic grips. All metal with two rings, it's most likely a Turkish FAL bayonet. Go to Otto's website at BAYONETS BAYONET BAYONETA BAIJONET SEITENGEWEHR BAYONETTA and you will probably find it there in the Turkish section.
Just checked and Otto doesn't seem to have one listed right now. Here's a photo I borrowed from the Internet:

See Turkey on my site BAyonet Collection Presentation there are several variations of this on there. As for books depends on what you are after and prepared to spend, the reprint of KEisling is a good one, more basic is Janzens, then the sky is the limit if you read French the ABC series is not bade. If you want to be specific then there is a big choice. My bibliography section has comments on most of the bayonet books available from cheap to more than a lot of my blades, be prepared to spend money if you start on the books 100 is typical for many of the newer dedicated ones and the older ones can go to 300-400

It is a Turkish FAL bayonet.
Thank you porterkids.
Thank you old-smithy, I'll look into those books.
You all have a good day.
