1908 Rock Island Stock
I took a chance and bought a early 1903 stock off of an auction. Some of you might have seen it. Anyway, it is marked C.N. in script, with 1908 below it. Script P below grip. Looks like its in good shape. Does have hairline crack 1 inch long behind tang area. I'll try to post pics off the site in a little bit. Satisfy my curiosity and give me a roundabout estimate of value, please. How often do you see these?

Not very often - I've been lookng for a RIA 1908/09 CN-marked stock for a long time. Have a correct RIA from that era that is missing a stock.

About 5 years ago, I bought a nice early1908, CN marked one that still had the seperate two cuts for the early rear sight sleeve for $350. Figured that was about going price at the time for a correct and unsanded one with a cartouche. I would imagine that price may have gone up a couple hundred by now. Ray,

No stock bolts. Straight profile on both sides. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I'll post pics then.
I had a '03 Mark I before, but it is long gone. This stock might be the start of my next '03.
Rick I might be in need of an early R.I. barreled action...
