    Krag type wire belt hangers

I have a couple scabbards, one 1904 Hospital Bolo and another and early
M-1905 leather scabbard, where the belt hanger rotates very freely. The pivot point is a bit wobbly and loose. Obviously these are used for a while.

My question is, has anyone ever found a way to tighten the pivot? I assume it is a peened arrangement but without something to go in the throat of the scabbard to prevent it from collapsing, I am at a loss as to how this might be accomplished.

Any long time experienced collectors that have seen or done some restoration work out there?

    Thanks.

    Robert
