Presumably only the stock is DP marked?
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”
Edward Bernays, 1928

From the distance that the pics were taken, I would guess that the barrel was replaced. I thought about restoring a DP rifle several years ago. I picked up a useable barrel but then prices on the DP rifles went up. Now I can't justify the cost of buying and trying to restore a rifle vs buying one in shooting condition. I know that as soon as I get one i'll have to get two more so as to have one from each manufacturer.

Yes barrel was replaced. I picked the rifle up from a gentleman whose father was a real Rocket Scientist. He had a vast collection of Military rifles and pistols. He was not sure when it had been re barreled. He remembered shooting the rifle as a kid, and he was in his mid 60's. I was lucky enough to be able to fire the piece before trading, as I was leary of the DP stamps. There were no issues, and have put another 100 rounds through it. Best accuracy was out at 300 yrds, and am sure that If My range were longer, I could even eeck out more distance. I was amazed at the collection his Dad had, and was drooling over a 1914 M1911, with holster, pistol belt, and a letter from the Soldier who had carried it in WW1. I hope in the future to see more of his collection and maybe add some more pieces.
I forgot to mention that this is an Eddystone rifle. The volley sights have been removed, it has the Weedon astrix on the bolt, stock, and extractor. The bolt and reciever match, and the barrel is in the 535xxx range. The rest is in the 194xxx range. I have had thoughts of replacing the handgaurds, but never like to alter a rifle from the configuration that I have gotten it in....
