British Rifle Opportunity to Buy
Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong place. Can anyone tell me anything about this rifle? Is this an Enfield with a short stock? It has markings that read: "M47C", A31344" and "England 1942". Any idea of what it would be worth?

It's a sporterized Lee-Enfield No.4 Mark 1. In its present condition, I would expect $75 to $150 at retail in the USA, $50 to $100 wholesale.

scubatke: It was manufactured at BSA-Shirley as per the "M47C" on the left cheek. It looks like the barrel was not shortened (bayonet lugs still present) so it might be a good restoration candidate if you were so inclined and assuming generally good mechanical condition. Replacement forends are available.
