    ID of M1910 pick/mattock US

I picked up a US M1910 pick/mattock today at a flea market and would like some help with the manufacturer. I'd post photos but I don't think they would help at all.

The date I can make out on the canvas. It's 1944. Above the date is one line of letters that look like "HAMAN" with a dot after the "N" at middle height.

The handle is marked US and under the US is a long line of what looks like three words, only the first which I can make out. Looks like "DIAMOND", second word looks like only two letters and is possibly "OF". Third word looks like 5 or 6 letters, no idea what any of them are.

The metal pick itself has no markings that I can locate.

Handle is probably Diamond Calk. Learned they were a manufacturer of the pick head at least.
