1943 Colt 1911A1
I picked up this Colt just before Christmas. A WWII vet brought it home and carried it at work as a Chicago policeman. He sold it about 40 years ago to a younger policeman who never carried it and recently retired selling it to me. The vet had installed a "Micro" bushing on it which I managed to replace with an original off a a different vet bring back (WWI Colt 1911) which had the markings ground off. Other than that all the parts are original and the slide matches the frame serial number. The bore is perfect and the finish is at least a strong 90%. It cost me two days pay and some help identifying some of the other stuff he was selling. All in all I'm quite pleased.
