What happened after FTR.
My no4 mk1 Faz has been FTR'ed. It is a very nice clean rifle. The metal is painted black and the stock has a very nice smooth finish, I would say semi-gloss. All the #'s match and the bore looks pretty good. I am curious as to what happened to rifles after they were FTR'ed. Would the stock be finished to such a high degree by the British armorers during the rebuild?
Thanks
Butch Parker

No, but it's possible the rifle got re-issued and some trooper rubbed it daily with linseed oil in a barracks over the years.
It's also possible someone in civilian life has sanded and refinished the stock.
Have any pics you can post for us to judge?
