    F.t.f.

No the title is not a typo
I'm aware that F.T.R. is Factory Thorough Repair but have come across references to No 4's being dispatched as F.T.F. as well as F.T.R. in the 60's
I'm not saying they were stamped F.T.F. but are logged as F.T.F. can someone give a definitive answer as to what F.T.F. stands for please ? (without guessing !)

    Many thanks Kevin

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. In my day it meant Failure to Fire Kev, but I am sure someone will have the WW2 version of it

It has always been Failure to Fire for me.

Maybe if you can cite your references or the context it may help others to chip-in.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

This is what happens when you listen to too much Beach Boys and try to be part of a mortar team:

That won't have armed itself in that short distance BUT.......... No matter how many times they tell you during the course, you never believe them. The 3.5 M20 rocket armed itself the moment it came out of the tube!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scary.....
