    "L39A1/Envoy" Tribute Rifle

This is a very well done tribute rifle, but it always bothers me when a seller gives a history lesson on the development of a rifle, yet never really gives any description of the actual rifle for sale. Nowhere in the ad does it say that it is a built up rifle from parts. Buyer beware.

Not sure what the sum of the parts are for this rifle, but will be interesting to see what it finally goes for. Take a good look at picture No. 8 & 38 and you can see it started it's life in another form of an Enfield.

    Just a heads up!!

All of the real RSAF Enfield 7.62 conversions except for the original L8T sniper rifles are VERY distinctly marked with engraving on the left side of the body. This is an Envoy lookalike build using original parts. It's certainly pretty and probably a great shooter but that would be the sum of it's value IMHO.

Certainly a very "pretty" Envoy. Stock set and mag is from E98; hammer forged barrel (would be interesting to see markings); 19T proofed bolt body and head. Butt plate is reproduction plastic type...nothing wrong with that. TZ sights regulated for 7.62. Only thing I would ? would be the absence of the left side wall markings and SN on bolt. Parts alone are worth the starting price of the rifle. Ron (Canadaicon).

I see most of the screw heads like on the butt plate and the front band (Screw should be from the left side like the trigger guard) seem all marked by an ill fitting screwdriver also it may be a 19T bolt head but what size I sorta guessed going by one pic as a 0 my question is and this dealer seems to be hedging around all the time, if its not what it is or a bitsa why not say it is or is it just sales hype to catch the unwary looking to invest their hard earned monies. Like it has been said this started life as something else therefore it will always be a bitsa or clone though it would be a bit of a shame to part it out and I gather it is not going to stay where it is at the present price.

Someone must have done what I did 25+ years ago: stripped all the parts off a proper ENVOY and used the action to build something else. My whole kit went to a gent in the USAicon who wanted to do exactly this: build an ENVOY replica. By way of excuse, mine had a three digit SN though, and the bolt handle had been modified, spoiling the collectability of the rifle.
