Correct Keyes Grip Style for early Rem. Rand?
Just bought a gorgeous Remington Rand, Dulite finish with second style logo in about 98% condition. SN 9477xx. SP marked barrel. Keyes Grips with the reinforcing ring around the grip screws. Would these grips be correct or a later addition? Gun is all original with correct finish, sharp markings, etc. Just not sure about grips. Thanks in advance!

I would say that the grips that you have are most likely correct for your pistol. You are in the serial range where probably either would be considered correct. Just leave them alone.

Much appreciated! They go well with overall condition, etc. and appear fully original to the pistol. Just wasn't sure when phased in. SN has the first variation "No" versus "NO" in front of SN. Seems to be a good time to buy some of the pistols that were too high a year or so back. This is one of the nicest I have seen and it was $1300 plus tax and shipping to my FFL. Pictures when I get home at the end of the week to pick it up.

You mention a Springfield 'S P' barrel. Does it have a heat lot number stamped above the LH lug ????

I will post photos when I get it. All I recall on the barrel was an S on the left and a P on the right of the barrel link pin. No lot number above.

That is not the correct Springfield Armory barrel for an early Type II RRand. The correct barrel is a Springfield Type 14 with the 'S' and 'P' on the LH lug, with a Heat Lot number stamped above it.
