    M1911 Pistol Holster Production

When the M1916 holster was adopted for general issue was production of the M1912 Cavalry holster discontinued? If not, for how long was production maintained?

Also, at what point in production did steel hooks replace the brass hooks.

    Thanks.

While there was probably some overlap, production of the Model 1912 Holster stopped in 1916.
Beginning in WWII the hangers were changed from brass to an alloy, with a few of the hangers being steel. The alloy hangers appear to be steel, but are barely magnetic. Brass hangers start to show up again in 1945.
