Went off deep end-golf ball launcher
OK - bought a silly new toy. A golf ball launcher for my AR. Unfortunately works exactly as advertised-500 yards on a mil spec 5.56 blank. Waaaay too much for my surroundings. Looking for a way to reduce range, I hit upon an idea (happens from time to time). Inserted my CMMG .22LR adapter into AR, use "gray" level .22 blanks intended for use in my .22 nail gun! Works like a charm. Magazine will even feed 'em. Of course, action doesn't cycle, but who needs a semiauto golf ball launcher? At 45 degree elevation, range is a reasonable 50-60 yards. Haven't tried more powerful nail gun blanks, but should work OK, as soon as I can get to the hardware store for a box; they are in plentiful supply and cheap as opposed to mil-blanks. Hmmmm.... Now we can play gun golf in my pasture!

Or on the golf course...reduces the slices I should think. Watch the dog leg though...
By the way, you say silly? If we were there, there'd be a line up to shoot it...so what's silly?

We use golf balls on our pistol range...the chip shots are wild. Specially with a .45.
