BSA #2 MK IV* 22. Trainer Range Report
She is s shooter. So smooth and Quiet. that long barrel wrapped in wood really shoots so quiet I didn`t need ear protection like i would shooting any of my other .22lr. so didn`t get a good picture of the side by side groupings from 40gr round nose 1200 fps CCI and Federal. She shot the same groups with either ammo but i had 7 failure to fires with the CCI and 0 with the federal.

Not striking the rim edge, I had a problem like that.
Drilled the firing pin hole out a fraction, then turned up a new pin...problem solved.

Yeah she hits so far in. I guess Federal puts more primer into there rims and they had no problems at all but the CCI was having problems. I may look for another bolt head and do a mod so it will strike the rim properly. She is so fun to shoot. I can see myself enjoying this one for years to come.

My 1918 .22 is a bit "picky" regarding the ammo too. RWS rifle match seems ok; had a few misfire with SK match ammo at the beginning; but after stripping the bolt and cleaning the spring and pin etc; lubed and rebuilt, it's been much better. I think the firing pin was a little slow due to the crap inside the bolt.

She shoots great and I haven`t even tried any real good ammo in her yet. The firing pin sure hits hard enough just so far in from the edge it causes problems with some ammo. Going to get a box of Eley, RWS and Lapua and see what she likes best.

Stop it, I'm suffering...
But...maybe, from Monday on, I'll be able to cross the border to Veneto and go pick up mine.
I've been waiting for months now...

I have been waiting patiently to see. Can`t wait to see and hear how she shoots. I love this rifle and It has opened up a new door for my collecting.... My wife is not exactly as excited about that as I am. LOL

Welcome to the club Ovidio . You'll have a lot of fun with your .22 SMLE.
Looking forward to the range report. Alsoe let us know what ammo you are using.
I suggest trying different makes of sub sonic. See what she likes best!
