P38 ac 43 i-series w/ Cutoff Lanyard Loop
Hey All,
I am thinking about picking up the subject pistol, but the lanyard loop was cut off the frame. It is original in all other respects. There is no information on replacing the lanyard loop, and I am wondering if anyone here can enlighten me.
Thanks!
Chris

There are replacement lanyard loops, but postwar ones are slightly different in curve. Had a cyq without one, as long as the remnant pins can be driven out cleanly, the (replacement) loop was designed to be peened into place. Worked for me.

So, if you google P38 Lanyard loop you'll see the pics. You'll find a stripped frame that shows you both sides. You'll see two holes in the reverse of the frame...that are to rivet the loop in place. the spare or replacement loops can be had, you simply clear the old one and rivet the new one. Be careful and no one can tell...let us know when you're ready to attempt this...we'll be here...
